Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984), better known as Aisling Bea is a popular Irish actor, writer and comedian. Bea, who began appearing as part of the cast in Irish or British TV programs in the year 2009, began her career as a stand-up comedian in the year 2011. The year 2012 saw her begin to regularly appear on sketches and sitcoms. Following her win in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, she was invited to appear on a number of panel programs. In 2016 and 2017, she served as a team leader for 8 Out of 10 Cats. She is also an actress on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was born to Brian and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister named Sinead. In 2012, she became the only woman to win the So You Think You Are Funny Award. Her surname honors the memory of her father who passed away. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan is the daughter of a Kildare woman who was born in Kildare. Her birth date was in March 16, 1984. Bea's father Brian took his life at age three. He was an equine veterinary. Bea wasn't told the details of how he passed away until she turned 13. In 2017, she composed an essay for The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family and adopted her stage name Bea to pay tribute. Bea was raised with her younger sister Sinead by Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary instructor, trainer of jockeys, and former professional racer. She and her family loved horses, races and racing. When she was a child, Bea employed as an assistant tour guide in the Irish National Stud however she knew from a young age that she wasn't attracted to the race industry for a profession, but instead was a performer.
