Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist after working within small Folk Music groups. The song was written with Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the tune for Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the potential of the single the moment he heard it for the first time.
